We offer a standard Performance audit that will detail your Oracle, UNIX, Network, and WebLogic environments, and provide you with an understanding of how each interacts.

Although individually tuning each application effectively tunes one aspect of the environment, the tuning efforts will be narrowly limited to a small slice of the larger landscape. Systems are not merely the sum of their constituent components. Each component needs to be tuned in relation to the other components within the same system or business function. Our consultants have 15-20 years experience working with systems, not just with components. They also have extensive experience working with large and complex systems. This combination provides value that simply cannot be matched. Each consultant has over 10 years experience as a systems/performance engineer and has worked for many Fortune 500/Global 1000 companies.

Architectural Reviews:

Architectural reviews help to ensure that the appropriate architecture is in place in order to support an application stack. The deliverable of this service is a written report that documents in detail both the business need and the components used to support it. A WolfPEC employee will be on site for one day to conduct the review, and will spend two days off site analyzing the data and preparing the report.

Some of the tasks that are performed include:

• Review of Architecture in relation to projected/targeted volumes
• Oracle setup review
• Disk subsystem review/ SAN Architecture review
• Oracle architecture (redo, undo, tablespace configuration) review
• Oracle init.ora review
• Operating system review (kernel settings on UNIX machines, OS patch information)
• WebLogic setup review (JMS, JDBC, Clustering)
• Network setup/requirements
• Java settings and versions

Performance Audits:

As part of the Performance audit, a WolfPEC engineer will monitor your business system and ensure that the application stack is tuned optimally for the business solution. The deliverable of this service is a written report which documents in detail the business system and its components. A WolfPEC employee will be on site for three days to conduct the audit, and will spend two days thereafter working off site.
